RaceAI LIVE combines real-time in-car video with the complete RaceAI Radio communication platform, giving engineers, coaches, crew, and approved viewers live visibility while the car is on track.
RaceAI LIVE uses the same core onboard communication and 5G platform as RaceAI Radio, then adds the video interface required to bring the race car's SDI video into the RaceAI LIVE platform.
View live in-car video while the race car is on track rather than waiting for the car to return before reviewing recorded video.
RaceAI Radio is included, providing cellular-connected digital communication between the driver and approved team members.
Engineers, coaches, owners, and crew can participate from the track or remotely anywhere they have suitable internet connectivity.
Because RaceAI LIVE includes RaceAI Radio, the LIVE hardware kit also includes the accessories needed to connect one Android smartphone for team communication.
The customer may use an existing compatible Android smartphone or purchase their own Android smartphone separately.
The Android smartphone and crew racing headset are not included in the hardware kit.
Additional team members can use their own compatible Android smartphones for RaceAI access.
Each additional crew member who wants RaceAI Radio headset/PTT operation will need the appropriate RaceAI smartphone PTT and wire harness, available separately from RaceAI.
RaceAI plans to offer iOS support in the future. No release date is currently being published.
Optional LIVE Power User and LIVE Spectator access can be added separately. LIVE Spectator access is watch-only; team Radio audio is not included with spectator viewing.
Teams choosing RaceAI LIVE do not need a separate RaceAI Radio car subscription. LIVE includes the Radio communication platform and combines real-time visibility with driver and team communication.
Early RaceAI LIVE customers will receive the current IOTA-based onboard hardware used for the beta program, together with the AJA U-TAP SDI video interface.
RaceAI is developing a sealed production onboard hardware platform planned for 2027.
Customers using early IOTA beta hardware will be offered an exchange option for the sealed production hardware when it becomes available, should they choose to upgrade.
The system operates from the race car's 12 VDC electrical system and uses the onboard 5G gateway for RaceAI LIVE and Radio cloud connectivity.
The current IOTA-based onboard computer and external video interface are not sealed production hardware and should be installed in protected locations away from moisture and direct exposure.
